Day 4
We left Dunedin late Wed evening and have had light wind sailing/motoring ever since. Currently we are in position 48 48.7' S 179 55.6'E (Sat 30/11/19)about to pass into the western hemisphere. Jim pointed out that by the time I send this email it will be Friday again! On our watch last night we could see the Bounty Islands on radar. Had a lovely sunset yesterday evening with a mixed pod of Dusky and Southern Right Whale dolphins, only the second time we have seen the latter dolphins.
We are heading SE at present with the intention of sitting below 50 south and hopefully find some stronger (but not too strong) winds. Currently the distance to Cape Town is still increasing each day. Once we reach 162 west at which point we will be 180 longitude from Cape Town.
The current intention, and all rights of changing mind are reserved, is to stop off at Stanley in the Falkland Islands after rounding the Horn.
